The Project:
Synthesis Media Agency Website

The Challenge:

Even a small agency can have a wide range of products and services to offer clients - along with a deep and rich history of work to showcase. And in the days before HTML 5, and Flash, demonstrating your niche video production capabilities could muddle your visitor's online experience even further. So how do you show all of your vision... your range... your history... while still making your site easy to disgest?

The Solution:

Organized and minimal. These were the two key tenents in our design.

We started by reducing the overall height of the site. (This was in the days of the old 640x480 standards - and of course everything that is old is new again. Thank you Mr. Mobile Browser Requirements.) By restricting the height it achieved goal #1 (Cutting Down the Copy). Nobody really reads anymore... right? So let's continue.

We also wanted the site to be as informational as possible. And if you're going to cut out the text there is only one way to do that... video. Enter goal #2 (Tons of Videos). Starting with the homepage and persisting heavily throughout there is video after video. Orientation videos, product pitches, examples of work. And because this was in the days of yore... we had to serve up multiple file formats for our potential clients. Each video on the site has 2 formats and 2-3 different pages it's promoted on. If we were going to put the effort into creating all of the pieces - we wanted you to be able to find them.
